Well, who am I and what is this all about? Good question.
I am Chrystal, the person behind Bouton Rouge Designs. Stay at home Mom turned jewelry designer. I have been doing this for about four and a half years now. I realize now that it started when I emerged from the sleep deprivation years – about the time my two sons turned three and five.
I have learned how to use heat and hammers to shape metal (Wow! That sounds good!) and how to put that shaped metal together with beads, gemstones and wire into wearable and hopefully beautiful jewelry.
The power of words fuels many of my creations. It started with a custom order but now I’m hooked. People cry when they get jewelry with their children’s names on it. I get that. I love being a part of it.
Red plays a big role in Bouton Rouge jewelry, oddly enough (rouge – red). It started with my wedding. I chose red roses for my bouquet. Crisp, bold, classic. I loved the look. The combination of white, black and red has resonated with me ever since – as you can see by my logo.
I am happy and humble. Happy I have learned so much but humble because I know there is so much more to learn.
